The Landsknechts are a Medieval and Renaissance performing arts troupe without equal. Whether you want your lanes filled with colorful characters, someone to host special events, teach you or your patrons historic medieval combat, choreograph stage combat, or nearly anything else you can imagine, the Landsknechts are here for you. We are your soldiers for hire. We can and will do it all.
The Landsknechts were mercenary soldiers from the southern part of present day Germany during the larger part of the 16th century. They were famous for their outlandish dress, live for the day lifestyle, and monstrous two-handed swords. They were perhaps the first post-Medieval combat forces, and as a result were hired by Kings and Nobles in many European nations, including Henry VIII and Elizabeth.
Given that the historic Landsknechts are our inspiration, our focus is on the early 16th century German, but have the knowledge, depth, weapons, armor (and even more important, the costumes!) to cover 8th century Vikings all the way to the early part of Elizabeth's reign.
Founded in 1999 by Devon Sharkey and John "Fritz" Karrer, the Landsknechts have since grown into a healthy company of soldiers and camp followers, complete with our own period encampment.
Whatever your show or special event, if there is a place for history and entertainment, there is a place for The Landsknechts!
