This is my page for my friend Massimo... written by Tanya Bellotti.
The Orchestra of Massimo Castellina occupies a place of great artistic value in the scene of Italian dance music, mainly thanks to Massimo and his unusual musical talent in the art of accordion. Massimo was born in Asti on 8 June 1970 and is approaching the music very early, favoring an instinctive attraction to the sounds of smooth and, in particular, the accordion master of the great Roberto Giraldi, in art Castellina. At twelve years, in fact, Massimo will collect all records and monitors the evenings sitting on the right edge of the stage, right next to the position of Castellina. From that privileged place of observation, Massimo looks enchanted Master whole night, dreaming of playing one day, and with the same unmistakable style that characterizes the smooth "to Castellina, rare and perfect fusion of technical and musical heart. Just fifteen years Massimo has a small dream: salt dancing on the stage of "Crazy" Asti to perform the song "Tutto pepe" two accordions with Giraldi, accompanied by orchestra Castellina-in Pasi classical training Gable, Irene , Trevisani, Agrò, Patuelli. A bold call to Roberto Giraldi allows the young Massimo become host and beloved pupil, giving full realization musical talents to those who are, today, a great accordionist, is a piano that color. After high school science, Massimo attended the faculty of Psychology at the University of Turin, continuing to grow, as always, passion for music with the study of accordion and clarinet. The 2000 is a year marked by the loss of the great master Giraldi leaving Massimo, beloved pupil, his accordion favorite: a wonderful tool by the white buttons blacks built by the company Mengascini Strasser. Driven by the pain caused by the absence of a figure as important for their human and artistic, Massimo continues to practice on that instrument even eight or nine hours a day, learning, thus playing that is four to five fingers , and perfecting the vibrato of bellows. The assiduous study, combined with a desire to honor the figure of the Master, Massimo lead to a very high artistic level: the biggest music industry experts believe that her talent is equal to that of Giraldi. It is significant that many people fail to distinguish the two musicians. The musical career of Massimo, which has no ties of any kind with the current Orchestra Castellina Pasi and that is the only legally authorized to pay tribute to the name Castellina, evolves, not with a few sacrifices, through many successes, such as ’engraving of several discs and ten volumes, and is deservedly rewarded with the ambitissimo Disco Gold. Today, the Orchestra of Massimo Castellina aims to renew the great tradition of Italian dance music with the notes of the accordion and the interesting sounds of clarinet and inaugurate at the same time, an unusual and extraordinary contamination of musical genres with the inclusion of the accordion in atmospheres of Latin dances like salsa, merengue and bachata. The greatest desire of Massimo is to continue to accompany, with the great music of his Orchestra, the stories and spontaneous gestures that characterize fans of a genre that has always following in dancing with the same affection.
