Jason Price (Managing Director & Producer)
Ice PR Ltd and the Funky Bunker Studios are the summation of a life hooked on music for JP. With a passion and energy that’s infectious, J’s music collection varies from Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, Boom Town Rats, Talking Heads and Blondie, Junior English, Nicky Thomas and to the ‘toasting’ styles of U-Roy, Big Youth and Yellow Man. The natural progression for J was to start DJing and rapping which sparked a knack for promotions. A successful run of club nights ensued. After a stint at Lloyds Register of Shipping, J decided to pursue his music career full time and chance meeting with Tim Russell in 1993 marked the beginning of a meeting of minds. With Tim as his musical mentor J continued DJing and promoting club nights and landing a weekly residency at Divine FM. By 2001 Jason had become disillusioned with the state of the quality, enthusiasm and passion that once had been the pride and backbone driving the music business. After many a consultation with Tim, the pair launched Ice PR Ltd with a vision of creating a professional yet organic environment for quality talent to evolve and succeed.
Tim Russell (Managing Director, Producer & Sound Engineer)
Tim Russell is of the classic old – school ilk, his introduction to the trade was at one of London’s best known studios – Trident Studio’s in the heart of Soho. A significant location and significant timing, this was still the pre-MIDI era, so Tim’s profession was learned using old fashioned yet classic techniques, that have produced so many timeless albums. Tim worked his way through the ranks eventually leaving Trident (by then Audio One Studios) as House Engineer. A short time at Chrysalis Music was followed by 5 years at the Marcus Recording Studios as In-House Engineer. Here he worked with acts such as ASH, ASWAD, ETERNAL, BRAND NEW HEAVIES, CARLEEN ANDERSON, THE ORB, N-TRANCE and the ELECTRIC BOYS. After a string of Chart topping recordings and mixes, he went freelance, working in all the top London studios. Acts included: BRAND NEW HEAVIES, ERIC CLAPTON, SHOLA AMA, 2PAC, N-TRANCE, JOE, JUNIOR DELGADO, ASIAN DUB FOUNDATION, DENI HINES, JTQ, N-TYCE and ALEXANDER O’NEAL to name but a few. Tim’s ethic begins from the grass roots and with his new recording studio and record label venture he’s keen to produce more quality music, in an industry currently dominated by manufactured pop stars. He firmly believes that efficient, focused, economic recordings can be produced without trading off individuality and quality.
