About Me

Do you have pets and live in rented accommodation? This page is for people who have pets but can't afford to buy their own house. The only option is to rent a property. In the UK, it's incredibly difficult to find somewhere to live if you're looking for a place to live for you and your pets...Landlords just don't seem to like renting to pet owners.

There are four ways we can help!

Responsible pet owner certificate When you register with us, we take up your references. Once this is done, we give you a 'responsible pet owner' certificate to take to house viewings, estate agents and landlords. This helps to reassure landlords and estate agents that you and your furbaby will make excellent tenants!Pet Friendly Landlords
We are building a list of pet friendly landlords. At present, we haven't covered the whole of the UK, but the database is growing. We hope to have pet friendly landlords listed in every area of the UK eventually.
Share and Share Alike We also have a database of people, just like you, who have pets, or would like to have a pet, but are struggling to find rented accommodation. We can put you in touch with eachother. You will then have acceptance of your pets, and the possibility of finding a bigger and better house together. And remember, bigger houses have bigger gardens!
In the Dog House Helpline We have a helpline where you can discuss solutions to related problems you are having.

I have never owned my own house, and have always had problems finding a landlord that will acccept my animals. That is why I want to help other people who need somewhere to live, but could never even imagine having to let their pet go!! I left home when I was 14, taking my dog with me. The first few years were tough, and I wasn't old enough to rent a house or a flat. When I was old enough, I realised very quickly then that landlords didn't want dogs in their property. This seemed so unfair to me, and although I understood their reasons, I was a responsible dog owner! And my dog was house-trained, quiet and beautiful! But I just couldn't find anywhere to live because she was with me. There was no way on this earth I was ever going to part with her and after months of looking for somewhere, I had to resort to 'sneaking' her into where I lived. One day, the landlord knocked on my door, and Honey, my dog, barked! He was SO angry and asked me to leave. I told him that it was only a recording of a dog barking, to deter intruders! LOL! I had to leave soon after that. So that's the quick version of my story, but I know all too well that people really struggle to find a place to go with their animals. If you're finding it tough, I hope I can help you :)
