About Me
Well, i started listening to my fathers record collection, jimi hendrix, bach, chuck berry, and i loved old style rock music. From there i went on to playing piano at age 9, i took lessons untill i was about 12, and thought it was a little too strict for me, i also was musically frustraited, i couldnt do half the things i wanted, so i quit. I had a guitar given to me at christmas when i was 6, i didnt really look at it as an instrument just a toy, so it lay around my room and didnt get touched untill i realised one day it was cool, so i picked it up and plugged in, "god that must have sounded terrible". I kept messing around working out various things, like smoke on the water and that kind of thing for about 6 months.
That christmas i recieved my first real full size guitar, A shine randy rhodes copy, in bright orange. I kept up the messing round on it for a while, and eventually my mother got driven round the bend with my noise 24/7, so she took me into town to the local guitar shop and said
"do you know anyone who does guitar lessons", the gentleman behind the counter looked at me and smiled and said
"yeh i do" so that was that, i took up the guitar from a very early age i wasnt even 13 at that time. I got away from the rolling stones and chuck berry and began to discover grunge (even though it had been somewhat innert or dead for nearly a decade), so i learned various songs from bands like mudhoney and nirvana. That was satisfying for me. One day i remember comming across an Sp in my dads collection, Iron maiden's Phantom of the opera with run to the hills as a B track, i thought it was like the fastest thing on earth, i didnt know that could be done, the closest i had come to shredding or metal at that point was jimi hendrix.
A few weeks later my mum, came through the door with some shopping and she handed me a bag, it had some sweets and a CD case in it, the CD was on of the air guitar series, i thought it was so cool i had my first rock CD even though i couldnt tell you who any of the bands were. I listened to it, Eruption was on the list but there was one far more important track on there, Vengeance by Yngwie malmsteen, i had listened to bach before and loved the dark, demonic sounds created in the harmony, as soon as i heard that i took it to my teacher and said stop teaching me the other stuff i want to learn this, so i had that down in a few weeks and i tasted that little bit, i wanted to really open the gates and play more things similar to this, then I discovered the likes of Jason Becker and Paganini so ive been working with that ever since, i gave up lessons and decided to try and work on my tehnique myself.
I now play piano again, guitar, im hoping to take classical guitar lessons and perhaps violin. I also compose full time so if you need music for an occasion dont hesitate to give me a callMySpace Backgroundshttp:/www.layoutstuff.com/userpics/backgrounds/co
