It's all in the Groove!!!

I am here for Friends

About Me

Most kids hate to be dragged around visiting families houses when they are 7 year old kids, I used to hate it with a passion! Then one day it dawned on me that it wasn't so bad... I discovered that while the old fogies were shooting the breeze I could rummage through my cousins' record collections. I started discovering 7" vinyls with these awsome looking labels, Tamla Motown, Trojan, Pama, Stax, Bluebeat, Dynamic.....badda-bing! There was no stopping me. I must have looked a prize dumpling, 9 years of age skanking round to Nora Deans 'Barbwire'... The Elgins 'Heaven must have sent you', Dave and Ansell Collins 'Double Barrell', Temptations, Chairman of the Board, Eric Donaldson. Then I stumbled across a compilation of seriously great reggae tracks...'Tighten up Volume 1', then it was onto 'Club Reggae Volume 1'...dragging my poor mom around town trying to get a Crombie overcoat and loafers...it was difficult to get them to fit a 10 year old! she managed in the end god bless her cotton socks. So I suppose everything that ends up on here, one way or another, you can blame on the fact that the pubs were not open all day on a Sunday back then....lucky for me, maybe not for you lot!!!!

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I would love to have met loads, probably the legends who have sadly left us, people like James Jamerson, Augustus Pablo, Robert Nesta, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Coxsone Dodd, Edwin Starr, Dennis Brown, Johnny Guitar Watson, Otis Redding, Joseph Hill, Jacob Miller, Prince Far I, all greats in their own right whom deserve respect. People still around I would say Dennis Bovell, Sly & Robbie, Steve Cropper, Prince Buster, Stevie Wonder, Adrian Sherwood, any of the Blue Riddim Band, the Campbell brothers or any of the UB's, Al Greene, George Clinton, probably any of the Motown/Stax/ Studio One/Treasure Isle/Channel One artists, producers, session players as it must have been a wonderful experience in those studios... .. ..

How I made my profile:
I used Dave & Jay's amazing myspace editor . ..
