SURVIVORS of Sexual Abuse - Most people do not know that one in three females will be sexually abused by the age of 18 and that 90% of the time, the perpetrator knows the victim and could be a family member, neighbor or so-called friend. Most females have some sort of personal experience, but feel they must keep it as a dark secret. It amazed me that after a speech about the documentary and sharing my experience in a communications class, how many women approached me afterward to tell me that they had their stories too and that, yes, this is a huge problem to be dealt with and faced. It is so important that society recognizes this problem. It is after all the problem of anyone who cares for a sister, a brother, a mother, a child, or a friend.
