Based in Atlanta, Snake Oil is a progressive band which incorporates elements of blues, rock, and psychedelia, as well as R&B and jazz. Slide guitarist Carl Gentry also plays harmonica and provides soulful, gritty vocals to the mix. He has played around Atlanta for more than seven years and has performed with members of King Johnson, Delta Moon, Eric Austin, and David Allan Coe's band.Bassist Stephen Cox has been playing for over seven years in numerous local bands. He has played in bands of many genres including, Funk, Jazz, Reggae, and Blues.Lead guitarist Drew Stawin has shared the stage with recording artisits such as Stevie Hawkins, Wayne "Bear" Sauls, Spencer Kirkpatrick (Hydra), Barry Richman, Eric Austin, and Andrew Black.Drew appears on 12 of the 18 songs on Stevie Hawkins 2007 Emphasis records release entitled High Times, and has writing credits on 8 of the songs on the recording. Drew also made an acoustic appearance on Stevie's 2005 Atlanta Music Group release by the title of Georgia Jam, where he can be found playing on C.C. Rider along with Spencer Kirkpatrick of Hydra fame.
