Revenge of The Dead is Impey's groundbreaking film that looks at the subject of sexual transmitted diseases using the old video nasty style of filmmaking that he is so passionate about.
This is a truly unique film that deals with a very taboo subject in which Impey dives into with no boundaries. It is a very hard hitting film, and not for the faint hearted.
This project was born from a meeting Impey had with the founder of Vipco Michael Lee. Impey pitched an idea for a zombie film in which the disease was spread by sexual intercourse, as this is a very relevant subject. Interest was shown, but there were a lot of challenges to overcome and so the film never really took off.
Mean while Impey embarked on a few other feature films he formed a cast and crew together to attempt the long awaited project he really wanted to do - REVENGE OF THE DEAD.
Julie Gilmour plays Gemma, the poor innocent sweet girl who has had her heart broken, and she is supported by Kirsty (Helena Martin) who is her best friend, and the one Gemma turns to in need.
Darryl Lane plays the perverted man spying on the girls in the bush, who is soon exposed when his dog Wes (played by Trigger the dog) discovers an ancient grave unleashing pure evil in the form of a very sinister zombie played by Nick Stoppani. What happens next the girls could never imagine or prepare for!
Sami Yildirim and Natalie Pledger were given the most demanding job - The Special Effects. They had to create things that they had never done before, and so they embarked into a journey of the unknown to produce some amazing resluts that have the audience on the edge of their seats with their hand in front of their eyes!
A fantastic score was created by Azeen Choudhry and was the ultimate final touch to Impey's work of Art.
Impey teamed up with Kemal Yildirim who was Director of Photography for Revenge of The Dead. This has been their first collaboration, and what aproject to start off with.
There has been every possible problem you can imagine in completing this production, including re-shoots, faulty film, camera faults, storms while filming etc. The problems were over come to complete what could be one of the most graphic extreme films ever put to film.
