About Me

Buzz Cason rediscovered the road life in 2004 when his autobiography was released and he made stops at over 150 venues including book signings, regional television appearances, clubs, festivals and some private events. Throw in writing and producing for the Derailers ’06 release, Soldiers Of Love on Palo Duro Records and you’ll find Buzz a busy bee around and away from the “hive”.

With the distinction of being the only known songwriter to have songs recorded by the Beatles, U2, Pearl Jam, Gloria Estefan and Jimmy Buffett, His song, “Everlasting Love”, co-written with Mac Gayden has been covered numerous times as well as “Soldier Of Love”, co-written with Tony Moon. Buzz also co-wrote “Love’s The Only House” with Tom Douglas for Martina McBride. He recently embarked on a fresh start by writing with co-writers; one being Brian Hofeldt of the Derailers which produced “Cold Beer, Hot Women and Cool Country Music”, a hit for the Derailers, and “The One Before Me” with Anthony Crawford of Neil Young’s band. Another song co-written with Anthony, “Glory Bound” was a hit for the Oak Ridge Boys. His songs “Hey Now”, “Wondering”, “Hooked Up With The Man” and others have been heard on over 70 U.S. radio stations as well as XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Radio.

To capitalize on the new surge of energy, Buzz dove back into the studio to complete “Hats Off To Hank” – by no means a salute to Hank Williams, but a 15 song collection of eclectic material from the heart, utilizing some of the finest musicians found around the U.S. The Palo Doro records release reached 24 on the Americana Music charts and 3 in spins on XM Satellite Radio!! In 2006, Buzz sang background vocals with Radney Foster on Willie Nelson’s Grammy nominated “You Don’t Know Me” Tribute to Cindy Walker on Lost Highway Records. 2009 Palo Duro Records released another solo album, “Busload of Love”.

Buzz appeared at Larry Joe Taylor’s Texas Music Festival, Tommy Alverson’s Familty Gathering, Michael Hearne’s Big Barn Dance Moon Weekend, the Lower Alabama Songwriters Festival as well as the Frank Brown Songwriter Festival in Florida, plus performances in England and Ireland in 2005.
