DJ Mem got into electronic music around 1995 with influences from some futuristic Portuguese DJs. After a couple of years DJing, Mem started creating his own beats and moody rhythms with the primary MC 303. Surprised with some releases in Portuguese labels, he got motivated to keep producing. Although, he never left the DJ business and kept practicing and improving his technique to reach higher levels. In 1998 his best friend and Portuguese master DJ Ze Mig-L, invited him to work in his shop, where he had contact with loads of serious electronic equipment. With new toys and his strong Chicago accent, had a release on Ibi's label Semi-Automatic, chartered by the famous German DJ Acid Maria on Groove magazine, etc. Moved by love, Mem went to London where he founded his own label, Nasty Colour, which had an excellent beginning with NC 01 and NC 02 chartered by the legend Dave Clarke, DJ Bam Bam and more techno experts around the world. So keep an eye on him because this guy promises a nasty and colourful future.
Probably the reference of the Chicago sound in Portugal. If António Pereira used to get the records available at an old portuguese shop, this was for sure the man who most played them. This man was one of the most active DJ's while an old after hour club was "alive" in Portugal. Yes, Dro was resident at Climacz, the most crazy club ever in Lisbon. Dro easily contaminates every single dancefloor with his groovy and tasty rythmn when bringing to life the old school party spirit. As a producer his first rule is for sure something like "let's make thing better shaking bums" His happenings cannot be described with a huge ammount of text. Dro simply is a reference.
