Singer/Songwriter and session player Eddie Jason Coven has been one of San Diego's most noted up and coming artists. With solo performances spanning the scene at such venues as Bare Back Grill, O'Connell's, Dreamstreet, Skybox Sports Bar, JT's Pub & Grill, Humphrey's By The Bay and House of Blues, local music fans and musicians are appreciating the songwriting and the showmanship of this new performer.
A good old rock and roller at heart, this past year, Eddie has gone back to his roots in Americana with such Dylan-esq songs as "A Mile or Two", and pure country tunes like "The Youngest Child". Belting out Johnny Cash, CCR, and Bob Dylan covers, Eddie has been quite the crowd pleaser in his solo acoustic performances, but other nights of the week you can find him rockin out as the keyboardist and backup vocalist for Blizzard, as well as playing keyboards for Chris Leyva's solo act. In addition to his musicianship, Eddie is also a Public Relations Specialist for Black Cherry Music Group, the local San Diego label responsable for the annual Turn It Up concert series and San Diego's Best at House of Blues.
Previously, Eddie played for JD Romance, and is featured on the song "My Paradise", slated for the group's forthcoming release, as well as on an electro-pop cover of Bob Dylan's "Knockin on Heaven's Door". Prior to the Romance, Eddie played for cover band A.D. Rox, original act Azariah's Dream, and for singer/songwriter Sandi Shaner, and was featured on her 2008 release "Touch Me Again" on two tracks, which were "Kiss Your Ass" and "Mickey". Eddie also lent a hand and backup vocals to Folding Mr. Lincoln on the group's new record "Within My Reach" on the song "All The Way to Redwood". In the last year, Eddie has also performed with Sweet Joyce Anne, The Reverend Stickman, Annie Rettic, Folding Mr. Lincoln, The Shady Side Players, Chelsea Flor and Bam! Barcelona in various instances.
