Shu has accomplished much in the past recent years as a DJ, promoter, and upcoming producer. After moving to Chicago in the summer of 2006 Shu quickly integrated himself in the local electronic music community. His DJ career accelerated from there, with each booking and promo mix earning him more notice. Then after having played at some of Chicago’s most distinguished venues, Shu also established his own night at Wax Lounge called Eclective. During the eight months of his residency at Eclective, Shu booked over 20 DJ’s from across the country and helped institutionalize Wax as a beloved venue to party and enjoy great electronic music.
Through opportunities to travel for his day job, Shu was also able to build great relationships with electronic music communities around the country. Not only was Shu able to benefit from these relationships in terms of bookings and building a national following, Shu has also connected key players in various cities to help them break into new markets.
These days Shu continues to make regular DJ appearances in Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco. On the side, Shu has been spending a lot more time in the studio working on original productions. His early works have received much support so far but he remains humble to the fact that he has a lot more to learn in order to produce the caliber of music that he demands as a DJ.
Although Shu’s career in electronic music can be considered successful so far, his future is unwritten. He is driven not by fame and status, but rather by his passion for music and his outgoing personality. So as long as there’s good music and good people in the world, he should be alright.
