comes straight out of the south coast from Hastings, their label was formed by a group of friends who all had the same passion for Drum and bass. The guys on the label all think its time to give something back to the scene as it has always given them damn good parties and Djing sets. It has also taught them the formula of producing Drum and bass by listening to the way it is made. One thing they would really like to do eventually is bring in new talent to give people a chance to shine within the label. They feel that if it wasn’t for the internet, Aim and MySpace they would maybe not have had the opportunity for people to hear their tunes. So thanks to good old technology, it has given them a great boost and got their music heard by the right people who really matter in the Drum and bass scene. Now they remember their roots of Drum and bass like every one does, their influences went from the likes of Virus and Ram and beyond, just hearing the pure energy in some early Dnb made them think that this was something they really wanted to do, they wanted to bring something new and original to their sets so their journey into the music really starts here.It all started when a local promoter called Sharon (who was running a local collective of DJs and MCs under the name of Fifth Element) introduced them to a couple of guys called Graham, DJ Stepz and Geoff DJ Echo, who were doing a demonstration on an Amiga using a programme called Octamed. They liked the fact that a basic studio didn’t cost the world, and it was a good learning curve for them; they ended up getting the same set up and started with no knowledge whatsoever at the very bottom of the ladder. This was the very beginning of creating music for Dangerous New Age. After a year or so they decided this was a very limited way to make music so they moved on to basic midi sounds and a programme that came with the Evolution keyboard. In time they realized this was not that great either.
The main turning point was meeting Adam Halabi and Anthony Coombs who worked in their local record shop Frontier music. It was Adam and Anthony who introduced them to Cubase this was brilliant and exactly what they had been looking for. Being able to manipulate sounds properly was a brand new horizon for the guys and they have never looked back since. The first ever release was on DJ Phantasys label called Easy Records, with a tune entitled “House of Death†under the name of Half Life. This was the first time any members from Dangerous New Age had ever been put on to vinyl and it was very exciting for them so we say thank you to Dj Phantasy and Easy Records for giving us the first ever realease.MC Fatman D from NuBreed crew got them better known globally. He has helped them along the way through releasing a track called “Survivors†on his imprint Biological Beats they appreciate it and say thank you.Dangerous New Age Recordings have just recently had some good radio plays on two of the biggest international radio stations in the world.
