I was born in Uganda, into a family blessed with talented singers, dancers, poets, actors and actresses. As a child I remember during school holidays, how my elder sister would play the piano and we..d all line up, singing in different voices to the songs she..d write or how our cousins would be included to act in the different musicals she..d written and this would then be presented to the family. But with all the talents we had,our parents made it clear that education was more important, so through the years, I never even tried to develop my own talent, until a few years ago.I by chance met Ampofo Acqua, a very talented musician from Ghana, who invited me to try my voice out in his studio.I will never forget that day cos the first thing I said was "I can..t sing!" Through the following months we formed a group called "the Voices" with him,Slyvia Gogoa and Ni@sony, two other singers I had met there. The Voices performed at different cultural events, but we went our seperate ways and I continued with "Ning Nings" a group I formed with a German guy I..d met at one of our concerts.Ning Nings was a good experience for me for I learned a lot about music from vocal trainning to studio productions cos at the same time I had started taking vocal lessons with a very talented Tenor called Angelo Mazelloni who up until now is still there for me. I also met Christian Bakotessa who has always been and still is there for me too, not only in the studios, but also to back me up on stage. This didn..t stop me from backing other artists in the studios or joining and singing in different gospel choirs, as it was also a good experience in trainning myself.Music plays a very important role in my life cos it..s a way of relieving the burdens that hold me down in the everyday routines and it keeps me sane in this crazy world. There is still a lot I want to explore and right now am working on "Luga Luga", a project I started to promote and preserve our rich culture in Uganda. This will be a dream come true cos my grandmother had a similar project called "Africa Heartbeat" which toured around the world, presenting different musicals in the early seventies. My faith in God has always been strong and I thank Him for the blessings He..s given me in meeting these few talented musicians, who are still just a phone call away. They will always have a special place in my heart.
