Officialy they appeared in 2007 May in the biggest students festival RAFES in Kaunas(LT). After the festival the action started and they performed in many parties and clubs.
But there is some history. B.U. and Dragor met each other at university as they became study friends. It took a year for them to realise, that they can speak without words behind the decks while playing, speak and think in music language. First parties at B.U. brother's apartment, at small towns of Lithuania helped them to understand, that they want to do something more, they need more, because music is what they live for and they want to share that feeling with others. So after one hard night the name BUDRA was born. It's just conjuction of their nicknames, but it sounds like a lithuanian word and in fact, after one and a half year, they found out, that it means something. According to Dictionary of the Lithuanian Language it is the middle of the night dialectally. What a coincidence. =]
2007 May 4th first official and crazy BUDRA appearance led to the next year RAFES festival performace too. More crazier, more professional, more self-confident. During that year they appeared in clubs all over Lithuania, became friends and gained respect from such dj's as Cleon Macnack (Rotterdam, NL), DJ Sun & Virus J (Mixteam, LT), Kym Wild (Metal On Metal, LT), Donato & Weax (FilteredTools, LT), Jonine (Gaudeamus, LT). They were invited to play a live set with DarriO KodeK to the „Sea Festival‘s 2008 Youth Zone“ in Klaipeda. A massive weekend event. Recorded a first single "Kirpykla (The Barbershop)", a bootleg remix for "Digis & FilteredTools - Lakstingala". Started their own parties in a local Bar "Punto Pizza" (Kaunas, LT) with live instruments and improvisations. As guest members and friends joined DarriO KodeK (Road Band, LT), a nasty oldschool hippie saxophone player. YggoFinger (Yellow, LT), the Kazanova guittarist, who knows not only how to win girls heart... Art (RootsNote, LT), the drummer, a geeky, crazy and more talended stickmaster. And we think the first BUDRA's friend – Alex, with his magic sax, with whom B.U. and Dragor performed at their first RAFES festival.
Exploding music, rocking guittars, sometimes sweet and sometimes nasty vocals, endless energy + loud shouting & screaming behind the decks - inavoidable parts of their performances. The moment when BUDRA comes behind the mixer is the moment when you forget everything and stop thinking what will happen next. You just enjoy the moment.
