PopAnt

PopAnt is a project founded by Michal Fojcik - sound engineer/designer and musician from Krakow, Poland. The main goal of this project is to create living music, bringing together tradition and new possibilities of music production. PopAnt tries to join new electronic, and processed sounds with live instruments. Synthetic sounds produced by Michal Fojcik meet with organic, flute sounds played by Michal Pieszczynski - a very open-minded, classically trained flute player. PopAnt sounds from subtle and harmonic to digital, sonoristic and totally processed. On the song PianoTune EDEE DEE joined with the band, to provide dense (and free) scratch structures.

Michal Fojcik:

working as a producer/sound engineer/designer in NLD Studios in Krakow. Ocasionally, working as composer/sound designer for theatre: "Werter in NY" (Teatr Slowackiego, Krakow) with Dokuro and EDEE DEE, "Woman in black" (Fabryka Trzciny, Warszawa). In the past guitarist; today, software freak.

Michal Pieszczynski:

flute player, studied at the Academy of Music in Krakow. Inspired by such artists as James Galway, Jean Pierre Rampel, Bobby McFerrin, John Coltrane, Matthew Herbert, Hector Zazou and many others. Played in bands covering wide musical spectrum, from flamenco nuevo (Que Passa), hip-hop (Sponta, DSL), house to jazz-band and irish music.

EDEE DEE (known as DJ Gypsyman):

playing in such styles as club, breakbeat, jungle; also scratcher and MC. Performing with THC Underground, jwp.org and Jarek Smietana "A Story of Polish Jazz".
