As the middle child of June and Bernie Fieger, Doug Fieger decided his career at the age of three or four. He had seen a movie and he knew he wanted to be the one on the stage. Soon after he became THE child actor in his hometown of Detroit. Doug had an obvious gift for the dramatic. He kept a Jean-Paul Belmondo poster on his bedroom wall and staged Edward Albee plays, as a teenager. Doug was a member of two different repertory companies and played Peter Pan for two years at the Detroit Institute of Art. He even did Shakespeare. His parents’ expounded creativity and non conformity-a lesson Doug learned well. While in Detroit he headed a rock and roll band called Sky, which became popular locally. In 1971 he headed to L.A. The Knack was born seven years later, in May of 1978. There they played the Troubadour and Starwood and performed with the likes of Ray Manzarek, Eddie Money, Tom Perry, Steven Stills, and Bruce Springsteen. The Knack was on it's way to making rock and roll history. "Get The Knack" had one of the biggest commercial debuts in rock history. It went gold in 13 days, platinum in seven weeks and sold six million copies worldwide.Doug and The Knack have been around for over twenty years, and continue to perform world wide.
