Meet Sara G aka Sister Sara aka SAGE: Songstress, Poet, Producer, Artist, Designer. This Ooman has been singing and producing since the mid 90's, performing with such artists as Marcia Griffiths, Shinehead, The Congos, Prezident Brown, Sleepy Wonder, Ama Donna, Isaac Haile Selassie, Reggae Angels, Wadi Gad, Jah Levi and the Higher Reasonings, Rocker T and Jamalski to name only a few of the talents she has shared the stage with. Opening for such acts as Coco Tea, Luciano, Junior Kelly, Don Carlos, Sister Carol, Mickey General, Mr. Easy and more.
She is a been playing piano since childhood, although not professionally trained, she makes her melodies out of her passion for music. Her outcome is soulful and creative. She stepped out into the scene in the Bay Area, California back in 1996, working with local talents like Cannon and the Lion of Judah, where she got her first studio work. She returned to the Chicago arena in 1998 where she worked with The Livity Nyahbingi Choir performing throughout Chicago. She also worked in the studio on her debut Sing Say, where she produced with G Natural in Natural Productions. She released her debut through the underground in 1999 and found success. She was also a member of WADADA an all female livity choir, releasing VOICES OF OMEGA in 1999. From there Sara G began working along side some of the greats in Reggae Music. She has toured with some of the best from New York to Los Angeles and most everywhere between. She has had the honor to perform from the South Pacific to the Caribbean.
As Sister Sara, she released several singles throughout her career, The year 2000: CEASE ALL WAR produced with Positive Sound Massive out of San Francisco, CA. which stayed in the top ten of the internet chart soundclick.com for 8 months and reached No. 1 for 4 weeks. FAMILY MAN was a special tour release in 2001, which made the airwaves from coast to coast. She has worked in studios throughout the bay area, recording background vocals for such artists as Yami Bolo, Natty B and Rocker T, Jamalski, Reggae Angels alongside Sister Bunny, Cynthia Roots and Alreca. She has worked in the studio in NYC with such producers as Sidney Mills of Steel Pulse at Living Room Records, Earl Chinna Smith and Inna deh Yard in Kingston as well as David Kennedy of BEATLOGIC, Chicago's very own King Tubbis Studios and Drivetone Studios, Orange County, CA.
In 2004 Sage moved to Kingston, Jamaica where she has been writing and producing. She has been developing her sound amoung the greatest performers in music industry today. Influenced by human condition, creativity gallore and mesmerizing beats, Sage has emerged with a fresh musical view and formula.
SAGE is currently working on her long awaited album ECLECTIC SOUL. Being produced in Chicago, IL and Kingston, JA she is producing many of the tracks as well as having the privelage to work with some of the finest producers in Jamaica. TBA.
SAGE builds her music with an array of musical flavors. Her R&B sound over sweet melodies and her fresh and raw acoustic sounds mixed with dancehall riddims, hip hop beats and driving base lines.
SAGE has been performing recently in Jamaica and the Midwest as she is working mostly in the studio building riddims and laying tracks.
