Les Cameron and Barbara Helen

About Me

Over the years Les and I have played in many musical guises, sometimes professionally and sometimes for the love of it
We made a CD together called "Beyond The Sand" a mix of Les's songs and some traditional arrangements which we recorded at Brian Bedfords' Studio. You can hear some of the tracks here on myspace.
We are at present launching a new venture together
Les Cameron and Barbara Helen
Playing popular classics from the '30's, '40's, '50's
Les has put together his own unique guitar arrangements and I get a thrill each time I sing to them : classic songs, such as:
Aint misbehaving
Cry me a river
Cheeck to cheek
Begining to see the light
Also, more recent favourites:
Over the rainbow
Don't know why
Eva Cassidy , Norah Jones, and more.
We are available for bookings. Please contact us for more information:

Sounds Like: Check out Barbara Helens' solo CD,
"An Unfamiliar Place"
www.myspace.com/barbarahelen Barbaras' CD has received critical aclaim since being released in December 2008
"There is a richness to "An Unfamiliar Place" that makes you wonder if what you're feeling is the same feeling that people got when they walked in on Joni Mitchell or Judy Collins playing Greenwich Village back in the days. It's more Anglicised, a sort of Mid-Atlantic songbook if you will. Barbara's North East location comes through on some of the songs, both in the way she phrases and pronounces, but it's absolutely as it should be. Lyrically strong, poignant and moving. You can feel the passion for song reverberate in the delivery as it stops you in your tracks and reels you in".
Neil King FATEA MAGAZINE
" I received your cd yesterday and it is amazing, what great songs you have written. It hasn’t been off my cd player yet :) thank you." Danny Teeside Music Live
....."Echoes of Joni Mitchell with nods to such as Don McLean - new acoustic to traditional folk to Appalachian groove, Barbara’s work has a refreshingly cool maturity often missing on the regional scene” ...The Link Magazine Jan' 09 CD of the month.
