I love to laugh, and so I love to meet people who make me laugh. I also enjoy the company of intelligent, fun loving, quirky, spiffy, zany, adventurous, courageous, interesting people. If you can hop from eclectic coffee house to hiking a mountain, I'd love to meet you- anyone who shares a love and respect for life.
I'm involved with an amazing man, my partner, and even if I weren't I wouldn't be looking for romance/bonage... but new friends are always awesome... hey, if you don't know me and you're reading this, say hi, you never know, I might be pretty cool :-P

My secret vice: Westlife
I appreciate almost all comedies, have a soft spot for sappy romances, and am enraptured by scifi. And, while it's not very feminine, I tend to love action movies.

Farscape, Lexx, Monty Python's Flying Circus, Red Dwarf, Black Adder, Invisible Man, Xena, The Chronicle, First Wave, and Cowboy Bebop. Firefly also, but I have the complete series, so it's ok.
I will always find time to watch original Loony Tunes if they're on.
Oh my. Where to begin? I am a fantasy/scifi person mostly. A huge Jack L. Chalker fan, and have most of his books in first issue paper back- may he rest in peace, he was a great author and a great man. I also love Douglas Adams (but do you know the question?), Piers Anthony (huge Xanth fan, but also big on Incarnations, Geodyssey, and his single books), Clare Bell, Ray Bradbury, Jacqueline Carey, John Christopher, Robert Cormier, Roald Dahl, Jude Fisher, Neil Gaiman, Mercedes Lackey (free bards), Tanith Lee (about a shelf dedicated to her), Gregory Maguire, Anne McCaffery ("ship" books), Patricia McKillip, Robin McKinley, Larry Niven, Scott O'Dell, Tamora Pierce, William Sleator, Sherri S. Tepper, Vivian Vande Velde, S.L. Viehl, Joan D. Vinge, Kate Wilheim, and Connie Willis. Just reading off my bookcases, but I'll read just about anything... these are just the authors whom I search out.
Single Books: The Princess Bride (William Goldman), Brave New World (Aldous Huxley), Pet Semetary (Stephen King), Harris and Me (Gary Paulsen), Kindred (Octavia Butler), and Lovely Bones (Alice Sebold). I'm also a HUGE fan of the Narnia books by C. S. Lewis and read the series at least twice a year.
I'm a Greek Mythology buff and have tons of books about that and other Greek literary works (I suggest C. Kerenyi's studies if you're truly interested: The Gods of the Greeks and The Heroes of the Greeks). Fairy and folk tales hold my interest, and I always have some collection lying around. Sociology also fascinates me, so I have several different readings about that (with a focus on adolescent girls). I've got lots of books that are connected to Nature, whether it be biographies, stories, or studies- and Edward Abbey is included amoung them (interesting man, I suggest Desert Solitaire if you're interested in getting started with him). I also love reading memoirs of interesting times, which includes the well known series about the british veterinarian, James Herriot and a less well known memoir of a West Texas vet, Charlie Edwards; I also have several memoirs of the old country (wild west). I love a great deal of poetry, so I won't list any names, though I can think of several writers off the top of my head (TS Eliot, Emily Dickinson, some less well known people, etc). I have several collections of Edward Gorey's work, which are, of course wonderfully zany, as well as various photography and other art collections in various places about my room. I also have several books on animal rights, including a slightly outdated collection of all laws concerning animal rights (no, I can't stand PETA- I'm a SPCA baby). Lately, I've been getting more interested in my heritage, so I'm beginning to pick up books on those subjects.
I'm becoming more interested in what's going on in research lately, so I suppose I should list Science News as one of my favorite publications. Strongly suggest you look through an issue if you want to learn something interesting that you had no idea about.
Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr, Mother Theresa, Abraham Lincoln, Helen Keller, Frederick Douglass, Malcom X, and Edward S. Curtis (to name a few). The regular people that are overlooked but try to make a positive difference in the lives of others and their communities, and people who follow their dreams and passion despite adversity. Last but definitely not least, my friends and family who have shown me the good in people and helped me keep faith in myself.
