George

George Pettus was Born and raised by Beatrice and John Brown on Long Island New York in the small town of southampton/riverhead. George was reared in a musical family with his father Giorge Pettus, a former MCA R&B recording artist. His father toured with many named artists, like Whitney Houston,Stevie Wonder, Ronald Isley and wrote music for the Stylistics.At a young age George followed in the footsteps of his father by teaching himself to play the keyboard,drum and all the string instruments. George has a gift for music and an ear for perfection. Without an education in music he taught himself to play by ear. As many of us know, learning to play by ear is no easy task and the late great Ray Charles is a witness to that. As a young child George played in local churches, bands and competitions. Beginning at age 4, he sang and played the drums at Community Baptist Church. At age 10, he began to produce his own music with a local DJ, composing songs and singing. At age 18, George won second place playing the piano at a Riverhead High School talent show.George has been singing and playing music for 25 years. He currently lives in Austin Texas. For the past three years, George has been the Minister of Music at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church conducting youth, adult, and male chorus. For three years now, George is the talented keyboard player for All U Need and foundation. The bands plays many of the cover tunes & originals by current artists in the industry. All U Need & the foundation plays songs such as -- Im going down by Mary J. Blige, Mr. Magic by Maze, and many more. Recently, All U Need was nominated for a proclamation for their musical progress and stage performance(alluneedentertainment.com). As a tribute to his special talents George was also given a proclamation from Mayor Gus Garcia of Austin for all the wonderful work he has done with the youth in Austin. Such as donating free music lessons to kids and helping them put songs together. Since 2002, July 18th is George Pettus Day in Austin.George is ready to take his music knowledge to the next level by following in his dads footsteps to record his own original music. When you listen to Georges music you will find his style to be sweet, romantic and real as he sings about his own life experiences.
