Indigo Balboa

De madre francesa y padre español, siempre estuve vinculado al mundo de la música, haciendo mis primeros pinitos en las fiestas escolares con tan solo 6 años,mucho a llovido desde entonces. Después de pasar la época de "aquellos maravillosos años" me metí en el mundo de la música de forma mas seria en el año 93 después de sufrir un desamor de tierna juventud, que mejor que la música para cantar esos males que nos parecían morir en vida?, ahí quedaban todos nuestros problemas,que tiempos! Después de unos años disfrutando aprendiendo con mis dos primeras bandas en el año 95 formé la banda D.O.N.T (days of no trust) con la que estuve un año dando conciertos y disfrutando, sobre todo cuando tocaba versionear a alguno de mis grupos de culto como Journey, Toto,Survivor,Withesnake... En el año 96 dejé las playas Vizcaínas y me trasladé a Madrid. Estuve involucrado en varios proyectos y di varios conciertos hasta que en el año 99 empecé a grabar un disco, colaborando codo con codo con mi desde entonces amigo Pachi Escolano, tardamos dos años en finalizarlo por diferentes motivos personales. Un disco con buenas ideas y mucha ilusión pero le faltaba algo, un algo que nos hizo meterlo en un cajón y que no viese la luz. Tal vez un día de estos nos reunamos de nuevo para ver si hacemos algo con el. Después de abandonar el mundillo por irse de Madrid 3 años, en el 2005 Pachi me ofreció entrar como vocalista en Casablanca, su grupo de rock madrileño de los 80 que sacó 4 lps- Empezamos la nueva andadura de Casablanca en el 2005 grabando un tema titulado "Mamut" incluyendolo en un grandes éxitos de la banda titulado "20 años y un día", después de eso nos metimos en el local de ensayo a componer nuevos temas y preparar los bolos que vendrían siendo el ultimo de mi etapa con ellos en agosto del 2006 en el Mazarock "Leyendas del Rock". A partir de entonces ,empezé a componer de nuevo y a entablar relación con gente de el otro lado de el charco como Frank Stallone (hermano de Sylvester) Con Jimi Jamison(Survivor) al cual le he hecho adaptaciones al español de grandes éxitos de Survivor, y con Mark Spiro(Giant,Winger,MR.BIG,Bad English...) Con mi amigo Mark Spiro he grabado 11 temas +3 versiones en español+1 en Italiano en su estudio en California,junto a increíbles músicos como Michael Thompson o Tim Pierce .*********************************************************** ********************************* Mi propio comentario: Que bien se esta allí,os imagináis entrar en un bar y escuchar a Chicago o Allan parsons o Toto o Rainbow.. luego llegas a nuestra querida España..entras en un bar y te ponen cualquier rumbero paliza ,ole y ole! o al canto del...urogallo?) . Hubo un tiempo en el que este país tenia nivel musical, bandas que dieron a nuestro país un caché que se perdería con el tiempo, menos mal que algunos de ellos siguen luchando por poner la música de verdad en el lugar que se merece. ************************************************************ *******************************Actualmente estoy paralelamente en otro proyecto junto a Paco,guitarrista y cofundador de 91 Suite. Antonio,bajista de 91 suite y Lean,el ultimo cantante de 91 Suite ahora como batería de la banda. Ya se sabe,quien lleva la música en la sangre no puede parar ,que le vamos a hacer... seguro que cuando estemos en una residencia de la tercera edad estaremos mas pendientes de sacar sonidos con las fichas de dominó que de ganar la partida. ************************************************************ ******************************From French mother and Spanish father, since he was a child he has felt passion for music,being specially keen on groups like Toto,Journey,Survivor. His first introduction in music was with "Refuge" in 1992. One year later he left the band together with the bass player to join the group Banam Banam with whom he was for about one year,cooperating in new compositions and recording,sharing all this with singing lessons in the music conservatory. At the end of 1993 he started the band "D.O.N.T" (Days of no trust) with the most genuine A.O.R sound,playing his own compositions and other artists versions like Eddie Money,Rick Springfield,Benny Mardones and groups like Survivor,Toto,Loverboy,cheap trick,Journey,etc... touring in Spain for 2 years. At the end of 1995 he moved from Getxo (north of Spain) to Madrid,where he went on with his singing lessons and started his solo career performing several shows. He was also involved in other projects,one of them having international projection but discrepancies with the american label prevented it from getting to a happy end. He worked as a background vocalist in a different projects with other artists and making jingles,returning to his solo career in 1999 where he worked elbow to elbow with the producer and co-founder of the rock band "Casablanca" who helped him to prepare his first solo record. It was a very long project since it took more than 2 years to be ready, a record which had great musicians. Some years later he gave shows at the same time he wrote new songs and ran his own businesses. In 2005 Pachi Escolano (his former producer) offered him to join his band "Casablanca" to release their 5th album,Indigo egreed and he became the new lead vocalist of the band.They worked together in new compositions. They realeased a cd with the band greatest hits called " 20 years and 1 day" with old songs of the early years of the band together with a new one"mamut" of their late period already with Inigo"Indigo" as the lead vocalist. After almost 2 years of rehearsals,recording sessions and tours across Spain he left the band in August 2006,with "Legends Of Rock Festival" he said his definitive goodbye to the band. In january 2007 with fresh ideas and songs written by himself years ago and songs from other artists like Mark Spiro,Andrew Gold,Bobby Huff(Dan Huff's cousin),etc.. he began to work on his future second record as a solo artist this time with the production of the great musician " Mark Spiro". Mark is one of the leading Melodic Rock songwriters well known for his works with Mr.Big,Heart,Cheap Trick,Bad English,John Waite,Kansas,Giant, Michael Thompson Band,Winger and many more.Also he has 7 solo albums with awesome songs. Today,Indigo Balboa and Mark Spiro are still working together on this new project,which will be released in spring 2009. At same time,together with Paco Cerezo( a former-founder of 91 Suite) he started the band INDICCO.Today they're working together on new compositions,both in spanish and english. Antonio(bass player of 91 suite is also involved in the project and finally,after their first show with INDICCO,Lean(last vocalist of 91 suite)joined the band as the drummer,being the band consolidated with the only need to incorporate a keyboard player to close the circle...Click here for Myspace glitter graphics and Myspace layouts
