If Bruce Springsteen is New Jersey's favorite son, then Ballz is his cooler, tougher, badder, kick ass younger brother. Ballz has been rocking Jersey, the world and the entire universe for many years. Their sound is a sexy combination of Glam, Metal and Punk. People have challenged them in the past but have all died trying to hit the notes that Nikki can sing, the beats that Bobby can drum and the chords that Zak can shred. Never has their been a band as bad-ass as these guys.Nikki, Zak and Bobby all met growing up on the streets of New Brunswick, where they found in common equal loves of playing, brawling and rock and roll. While freshmen in high school they made their brotherhood official when forming BALLZ. With classmate Henry "The Hob" Knobb on bass, they immediately took the local music scene by storm. After just 4 shows, the boys had to oust Knobb from the band, citing an inability to rock hard enough as the main reason. Later, allegations of involvement in a Malaysian kiddie porn ring would surface against Mr. Knobb. Rather than risk making the same mistake twice, Zak decided to take on bass duties along with his killer guitar. Most interesting about this move is that Sak is to this day the only person known to man that can play bass and guitar. At the same time. While rebuilding a transmission.1979 saw the release of Ballz' major label debut, UGLY LOVE, which became an instant classic thanks to the title track and their second single, BALLZ ON YA FACE. Nikki and company toured anywhere and everywhere, showcasing to the world their unprecedented live show. Mixing pyrotechnics, mixed martial arts and what fans THOUGHT were special effects, audiences around the world were wowed on a nightly basis. But of course they wouldn't keep coming if it weren't for the songs. In 1981, their Sophomore effort, BRASS, was released to critical praise and went on to sell 60 million copies. With this much success, most bands would sell out and GO HOLLYWOOD. But not Ballz. The guys remained in their beloved New Brunswick, not just their home but their inspiration. Before it was a cliche, Ballz always kept it real.BALLZ' third album, BLUE was once again welcomed very well by the critics and in fact, Rolling Stone critic Kurt Loder gave it an unheard of 7 stars and said the now famous quote, "This album is so good I shit my pants." After selling 1 million copies in it's first week, the band suddenly came upon some inner termoil and temporarily disbanded. They soon, mended fences and patched things up, but would disappear from the limelight, siting the need to focus on protecting humanity as the main reason. Things have been relatively quiet from the talented trio since. Until now.At a time when music needs them most, Ballz is poised to return with a vengeance so be prepared.Along with releasing new music as well as re-releasing albums and original demos, a feature film is in the works and plans to start production are slated for Summer, 2008. Check back here often for updates and info on appearances from the guys themselves! So get ready, 'cause here comes BALLZ!
