Johnny Carr has been playing dobro, banjo and guitar for around 10 years. Starting out in Sydney in a band called Dogswamp, he then went solo and played for 3 years with Johnny Carr and the Contenders, a country rock, bluesy bluegrass band. Now residing in Melbourne Victoria, he is playing dobro and mandolin in bluegrass outfit The Devil Goat Family String Band.As well as live playing, he has been a session musician playing on recordings for bands like The Mess Hall and artists like Lior, Peter Fenton, Jenny Queen and Corrina Steel.
