About Me

I work at Michigan State University Libraries as a Linux systems admin and computer programmer. In May 2007 I started a sideline, "Little Blue Hippo Art Studio" , which is now a Limited Liability Company. I hope eventually to quit being a full-time computer geek and concentrate more on art. I've done a number of different jobs in my 45 years, including theatre scenery and props building, carpenter, cook, equipment technician, and now, as I mentioned, computer programmer. I have a BA in fine art (painting) and an MFA in Technical Theatre. I grew up near Pittsburgh, PA, and have lived in a number of locations since then, including: Atlanta GA, Tempe AZ, Louisville KY, Ithaca NY, Daytona Beach FL, Port Orchard WA, and more.

I set up a community board This is a free service for the Lansing area community. If you are from this area, and provide a service (such as dog walking, lawn mowing, etc..) or product (art, crafts, etc..), or are a band looking for musicians, musician looking for a band, or whatever, you can post a note, business card, or flyer here. This is mainly for people without the means to promote their business venture, club, community event, charity, etc. In other words, for people trying to do a little something on the side, or start up a new way to make a living, and need to get the word out. It benefits me by getting more people to my website, and the satisfaction of helping.
