THE HWY 50 BAND

　　 Central Florida’s own THE HWY 50 BAND began their musical journey in 2006 when Rusty Roberson and Lee Grimes got together, decided it was time for some serious collaboration, and wrote their first all original 10-song CD “Changing Lanes.” “Ninety Nine” (track 7 on the CD), recently selected for a scene in the upcoming Movie Burning Bright starring Briana Evigan, will definitely get your little ole feets-a-stompin’ while the piercing tones of “Addiction” cut their way deep into your soul in much the same way as state road Highway 50 cuts its way right across the State of Florida.While sometimes described as contempary southern rock, Americana more accurately reflects the heart and soul of this band, drawing from a plethora of influences including rock, country, bluegrass, soul and rhytm & blues. The sound is unmistakable. These are Florida boys-through and through-bringing solid original work to the plate.
