Originally from Bronx, NY. Kayshawn "Yung Hood" James was born on December 26, 1991. He started rapping at the age of 12, freestyling in school during lunch. Hood always had talent for making music, but never thought of it as being a career. It wasn't until he recorded his first song called "What You Bang" ft. his cousin Yung 1 that he found out how much potential he had to really become a artist. Hood then followed with his first solo mixtape "Welcome To The Hood" with his first single debut "Get Like Me". Hood gained a lot of exposure in VA with his first mixtape. When he moved back to Columbia, he started working on his second mixtape, "Goon 2 A Goblin". Hood got his first performance at 16, at a popular teen club in Columbia called the VIP ROOM. From there his career started to take off working with J-Roc and Superstar Entertainment. Hood made his name known in Columbia with his music. But what makes him so different and stand-out is his stage presence, and unique style on the track. As he continues to grow, in life, and through his music. He is making a name for himself as an independent artist in the south. He is currently working on his 3rd mixtape "Definition of a Hustla" releasing soon April 2009.
