Brothers Bab

About Me

Inspired by all things live, Brothers Bab are a souped-up 8-piece with all the trimmings, including trombone, trumpet, percussion and even a spectacular violin. Their brand new EP is just out, and it's packed with catchy, original songs, inventive lyrics and some seriously honky horn lines. Make it to a gig and the tunes explode into a show that can knock you off your feet with its raw energy. Think Gogol Bordello but more fun, The Specials without the ego, or a calypso band from Trinidad on hyperdrive.

The name dates back into the mists of time when three rhythmically gifted young gents voyaged into West Africa together for inter-genre cross-cultural collaborations, and came back Brothers of Bab.Their talent for mischief and music inspired Theo Bard to write the Brother Bab Ska, and in line with democratic demand the name 'Brothers Bab' was appropriated by the new band.

Sounds Like: "It's impossible not to listen to this new collection by Brothers Bab and wonder if it will have the impact of "An Ideal for Living" or Grandaddy's "Broken Down Comforter Collection". There is nothing derivative about this highly original EP"
