Chris Ross, experienced and formally educated forty-something bassist, with fretless and 4 & 5 string fretted basses and rhythm guitar as a secondary instrument. Took up bass as a teenager having been inspired by Roger Glover of Deep Purple, then during the 80s was part of the NWoBHM scene playing in bands with way too much hair. Studied three years Jazz and Popular Music course specialising in bass guitar at Goldsmiths College beginning in their very first year's intake when it was the only course of its kind in the country; after moving to Guildford a couple of years ago took evening classes in guitar at the Academy of Contemporary Music ; more recently I have been flattered to be a personal student of the truly great Yolanda Charles .
