Welcome to Bandit TV, home of "Saturdays On The PHLI," an innovative and refreshing show that takes things back to basics by allowing artists to display the passion and purpose that they put into their music.
"Saturdays On The PHLI" started out as an idea by Bandit DJ Roosevelt Treasurechest. His mission was to create a space for fans, and artists to connect with each other and exchange creative energies. What's more, he wanted to showcase the talent and originality found in Chicago's Hip Hop scene and his own neighborhood of Hyde Park. Over the course of several months, Treasurechest would connect and build with the PHLI Store's Dave Jeff, who opened up his store and simply told Treasurechest, 'do what you do.'
The final piece of the puzzle came together when Treasurechest joined Bandit Productions and linked up with CEO Eric Sheinkop. Sheinkop was able to see Treasurechest's vision, and supply the necessary skills and resources to make it happen. Bandit's exposure without exploitation, and mission to bring unapologetic originality back to mainstream music fit perfectly with Treasurechest's outlook on life, and PHLI's philosophy on fashion and business.
"Saturdays On The PHLI" started taping in April 2007 with Juice and The Machine, and has continued strong featuring up-and-comers, and established veterans such as Dude & Nem, Que B.I.L.L.A.H., Naledge of Kids In The Hall, Legendary DJ Terry Hunter, ASIS Magazine, and RhymeFest.
