In 1994 the fist lyrics by daGreenFist and his cousin Rope were born in the streets of Vienna West. At that time GF came across dp. The following years were marked by freestyle sessions and live gigs. Different projects and underground productions that have never been released ensued.
In 2005 GF founded the viennese independent label GFMastaRecords. In the same year the album “Moonlight” feat. dp, the Boondockz´ Mixtape and their EP “Killer Circus” and its video clips were released. The production “Moonlight” and “Killer Circus” constitute the prologue to the GF chronicles. A few months later Rope, together with Dark Signz, released the album “Nix zu verbergen” with GFMastaRecords. GF and dp also contributed a feature to that album. During the production of “Moonlight” GF first met MiliJo, whom he recruited for GFMastaRecords. Work on GF´s solo album “Light&Shadow” and on MiliJo and Greenfist´s album “Das Begräbnis der Fakeness” started. In 2007 both albums were finally finished and video clips of the tracks “Das Begräbnis der Fakeness” and “Red Alert” were produced.
The album “Light&Shadow” includes nine club-orientated “Light tracks” and nine more dismal underground “Shadow tracks” and constitutes the first chapter of the GF chronicles. The beats of the album were created by Rope, c-dog, dp and Michael Duke (UK). The riddim to the track “Red Alert” was composed by the internationally well-known producer and DJ General Degree Size 8 Music/Jamaica. Jamaican giants of Dancehall such as Bounty Killer and Elephant Man had already ridden that riddim before.Tha Masta of daGreenFist stands out especially due to his dismal, provocative battle lyrics, with an emphasis on the punchlines and his party-orientated Ragga style, constantly moving between the worlds of light and shadow.In addition GF can look back on a considerable number of live gigs from different clubs, such as Atrium, B 72,Volksgarten, Sliders, , to halls like Milleniumshalle Stockerau, Planet Music, to Open Air gigs at the Donauinselfest in Vienna or as support act for 50 Cent with an audience counting 3000 people.
