James Healey is a vibrant professional musician, with a great attitude and work ethic. He stands out as one of Leeds' premier young guitarists.
James started playing guitar at the tender age of 7, influenced by his musical father. From here he has taken lessons from, the pop guitarist sensation Andy Scott (of The Sweet fame), local Jazz legend Graham Young and European Union Quartet Jazz guitarist Ulrich Elbracht.
James was also responsible for managing Jam@L (Jam at Leeds). This community project provided for underprivileged musicians in deprived areas of Leeds. This successful program has created some of Leeds' most vibrant and promising young talent.
Also a student himself, he has vocational qualifications in music theory. As well as a Diploma in Popular Music, and has recently returned to university to complete a Bachelors Degree in Popular Music Studies.
Teaching is another of James' talents, he has an entourage of students young and old, who continue to value his skills as a tutor.
Professionally James has played on music ranging from independent films shown at film festivals, to his own bands albums during his 16 years of playing experience; in the studio and in the local music scene.
