Representing the 330 Area ( Youngstown-Akron-Canton ) , Bo$$ Kon delivers a unique new school style of hip-hop. Bo$$ Kon has been on a major grind for the past 7 years working hard to craft his style , represent Ohio the proper way , make music for people world-wide and still represent and be the voice of the ghetto of the 330 streets. Bo$$ Kon has witnessed more things than some people twice his age. Being born in Youngstown, Ohio's notorious Eastside Bo$$ caught on early to crime from hanging around drug dealers to even watching his own parents cook as well sell cocaine. At the age of 8 Bo$$ left Youngstown with his mother and father heading for Akron, Ohio searching for a better life... the man we now know as Bo$$ Kon was now born! Coming up in Akron we had a poppin music scene in the 90's recalls Bo$$ about his local influences and rise to stardom as a local icon in Akron, Ohio. I grew up listening to dudes like Chino Nino , King Locust , Tha U , Yung Bo and dudes like that. They influenced me heavy, Bo$$ states that a older friend as well local rap artist Skillz of Da Kennel helped him actually become a rapper " I could rap but I couldn't write , me & Skillz little cousin had a rap group and he would help us write and he broke the structure down to us about 16 bars and melodies and how to format songs but pretty much after that it was a wrap! " Bo$$ began recording his own material rounding up the hottest young rappers in his city " Man I was probably 12 or 13 running a label and managing artist " Bo$$ brought rappers from all different sides of town together to become one and represent for Akron like never before. Akron is known for alot more talent other than LeBron James and I'm here to prove that says Bo$$ Kon . Once his sophmore year came around he decided to withdraw from high-school to take on the street life even more. Bo$$ and some of his highschool/childhood friends decided to create a group that would eventually become a movement in their neighborhood known as VDT ( Valley Dream Team ). Around the time his group was beginning to enjoy local success of their mixtapes and become established local artists , Bo$$'s mother decided it was time for another change, one Bo$$ felt had the biggest impact on his life.. leaving Akron, Ohio. Most thought Kon had left the state to focus on music or went to jail, not only knowing that he was only 30 minutes south of Akron in a even smaller town known as Canton, Ohio. While living in Canton, Bo$$ began realizing how talented he was , focusing on his music even more , but at the same time losing his focus due to missing home. " I feel like if I would have stayed home in Akron that I wouldnt have made it this far in my life because I was getting too caught up in the streets to realize the talents and blessings I actually had ". Although Kon changed his life around for the better , like most teenagers his age , the streets were calling .. calling loud and very clear. Kon began dealing drugs again in the small town he was new to risking his life for a few dollars. Kon began putting together another team , another movement , that the whole world took onto , DREAM GANG . Being the leader of the movement and label ( D.R.E.A.M. Entertainment ) with his older brother Yung D.I. , Kon began putting artists together , producers , graphic designers , photographers , promoters from the internet to help spread the word about this powerfull movement. Now today in 2007 , Kon has completed his highly anticipated album GRIND ( By Any Means ) which took him about 2 - 3 years to put together and is considered a masterpiece by those who have litened to and previewed the album. " I feel like the world hasn't really felt or experienced Ohio 100% because all of our national artists came from Cleveland or Columbus , not the 330 Area , not Akron , Youngstown , Canton , or Kent etc.. and these are my citites because their all within my area code the 330, so Im here to present the other side of life in Ohio where niggas aint got no hopes , no dreams , no ambitions because there's nothing here for us but hustlin all day and night"
