Nathan Branch

I don't care what is written about me so long as it isn't true. -- Dorothy Parker

About Me

I'm a communications consultant and freelance writer living in Dallas, Texas at present (after living in Raleigh, NC; Denver, CO; Seattle, WA; New York, NY; Las Vegas, NV and sunny Santa Monica, CA).

I once believed that art was everything -- I swooned over poetry, cooled my heels in countless museums staring at the latest trends in abstract expression, and obsessively rented the videos that had collected the most dust on the shelves -- but now that I'm older and wiser, I realize that I just want to be entertained, dammit!

I've dabbled in electronic music (a remix of one of my songs can be found on the "Global Underground 25: Deep Dish: Toronto" CD) and write screenplays and fashion reviews in my spare time (but EVERYONE is writing screenplays in their spare time, so how special am I?)

I love gin, Napa Valley red wine, brown t-shirts, Le Creuset cookware, stupidly expensive jeans, my Amazon Kindle, Henry Beguelin bookbag and Macbook Air. I have no pets, no children, one boyfriend, one SUV, a collection of aging laptops and a room with a view.

My Interests

gin, electronic and alternative pop music, gorgeous hardwood floors, extravagant shoes, minimalist cuisine, heritage brands (and how they got there), political blogs

I'd like to meet:

People who like to talk about geopolitical events, pop culture, the global luxury market and libertarian ideology over martinis. Oh, and maybe Margaret Thatcher, Chandler Burr and Christopher Walken, just cuz.

Music:

The Click Five, Aqualung, Keane, Muse

Movies:

Amateur, The Game, Dr. Strangelove, Battle Royale, Stranger Than Fiction

Television:

Bones, Frisky Dingo, The Venture Brothers

Books:

Independent People, The Moor's Last Sigh, Catch 22, The Phantom Tollbooth

Drink It With Style
