Andrew O. Jones is a contemporary vocalist, raised in the world of gospel music, but also trained as a classical and jazz vocalist. Originally from Chicago, Andrew has found himself on stage since the age of two.Andrew Jones is a 2001 graduate of Bogan Computer Technical High School where he was a member of the Chorus, Show Choir, and Gospel Choir. While at BHS, Andrew won the Chicago Showcase for the Apollo and performed at the world-famous Apollo Theatre in New York. He continued his formal education at the Music Conservatory of the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, majoring in Vocal Music Education. Prior to graduating from RU, Andrew was hired as a vocalist with the USAF Regional Band. Andrew readily received his Associates of Applied Science in Music from the Community College of the Air Force in 2007, and is a 2008 graduate of Roosevelt University, earning a Bachelor of General Studies in an Individualized Major concentrating in Music and Organizational Leadership.Andrew has been a member of the following ensembles: Just As Nice, The B-Siders, Mobility, Commanders Jazz Ensemble, USAF Band of the Golden West Concert Band, Fuerza Musical, The New Deal, Roosevelt University Gospel Choir, CCPA Conservatory and Chamber Choruses, Joneses for Jesus, NACK-PB Combined Choir, and Golden Voices of Praise. He has studied voice with Dr. Lena McLin, David Holloway, Michael Best, Richard Stilwell, Karen Carle-Irwin, Shelly Franklin Rose, and Seth Riggs.Some of Andrew O. Jones’ accomplishments are the first place award in the College by Culture multi-arts contest, grand prize in the Kiss FM Karaoke Contest, and being a finalist in both the 2004 Gospel Icon Contest and Wisconsin’s Kalahari Idol in 2005. Prior to enlisting in the US Air Force in the Fall of 2005, Andrew was the music teacher at Maranatha Christian School in Chicago.Andrew is currently the male vocalist with Pacific Trends, a USAF popular music ensemble in Japan.
