myspace graphicsThis years Florida Keys Kids Classic Fishing Tournament was held on July 12, 2008. The event was held at the Aqua Ranch on Grassy Key. A total of 42 kids and numerous adults participated. All who participated had a great day of fishing. The weather was great as well as the fishing. The kids had a great time fishing and eating snow cones and popcorn provided by TIB Bank. I'm certain they had a good time receiving their trophy and having pizza afterwards. A total of 48 thophies were given out. Each kid also received a gift bag containing Penn fishing tackle and some other items. Last year we had a total of 13 sponsors. This year we had 7 sponsors, Ragged Edge Resort, TIB Bank, Theater Of The Sea, Holiday Isle, Pelican Cove Resort and the Whistle Stop. Our trophies came from Collectors Corner. As always Stan did a excellent job. If you know anyone who would like to sponsor next years event, please send me a e-mail and I can get them a application.At this years tournament we also held a blood drive. The blood mobile collected a total of 12 pints of blood. One lucky raffle winner also won a $250.00 gift certificate to the Hampton Inn & Suites in Islamorada...
This page has been created to help benefit and support the kids in Monroe County Florida. For the past few years I have put together several events for the children in our community, to present police officers as a positive influence in their lives. It's a way for children and police to interact in a positive manner, promoting a better environment, providing a role model that is critical in a child's development.Some of our previous events have been The Florida Keys Kids Classic Fishing Tournament, Our Bowlathon, Yappy Hour Dog Walk and numerous Blood Drives. Every year we have been able to donate thousands of dollars back to the kids in our own community.In 2007 we again are looking forward to our Kids Classic Fishing Tournament. We are currently handing out entry forms for out King and Queen of The Keys mail in photo contest. All proceeds from this contest will be going to St. Judes Childres Research Hospital. Our Bowlathon is also in the works to help sponsor Toys for Tots.There have been countless studies done to prove it, but virtually everyone knows that spending quality time with a child is the greatest gift you can give them.
