About Me

I've played in bands since I was 13 or 14. Currently, I play drums in The Black Dots, Zuckerbaby, and The Brainlords, and play bass in The Remones."Shakin' All Over" is an old classic, performed here by The Unusuals in 1981 at The University of Calgary. The reason the guitar solo is a little wacky is that guitarist Ron was leaping across patrons' tables. It seemed like everyone hated us back then- although we were the first band to play Calgary's first punk venue, "Tha Calgarian", and we played there often, the punks thought we were too "rock" (I think we were actually just too talented) and the rockers thought we were a punk band. Have a listen and see what you think. The Zuckerbaby song "Holiday" was recorded live at the Jubilee Auditorium in 2000. I gave Gordo (ZB soundtech and guitarist for The Black Dots) a tape and he stuck it in at the board. Sounds pretty good for no mixing! We're recording new stuff this summer and so far the tunes are great."21st Century Bonnie and Clyde" by TKO was written and recorded in 1 day. We wrote and recorded 13 songs in 13 days. Todd Kerns and Reed Shimozawa wrote this one."Make Your Day" by The UPstrokes was recorded at the infamous National Hotel, I think in 1985. Same old story, not many fans, etc. People sometimes complained that we were too much like The Clash. Then a few years later, along comes Green Day and the like, with frontmen being complete Joe Strummer clones and everyone loves it! I just don't get it! Check out my Synare stylings on this song! Thanks for visiting, I'll keep changing up the songs for your listening pleasure. Watch for more Zuckerbaby, Remones, and Black Dots gigs this summer!
