DJ Slipmat Scoundral born & raised in Wolverhampton City, West Midlands. Slipmat has been intrested in muic from a young age. It all started off by listening to his older brothers collection of various genres such as, Hip Hop, RnB, Garage, Jungle & others. As Slipmat got older he dicided to give mixing a go. Slipmat started of mixing Hip Hop & RnB around 2003 then sortly moved onto Garage/Grime in mid 2004. This is when he started to take DJing seriously. He started going to all the local Youth Clubs and gained alot of reputation. Soon after, Slipmats talent was spotted & he was recruited to a Crew called Younger Stakes around late 2004, who are the youngers to the well known Higher Stakes. This is when Slipmat started to put alot of work in & make a bigger name for himself. Being apart off Younger Stakes gave him alot of opportunities such as featuring on Pirate Sessions (BBC 1Xtra) & Mic Check Show (BBC Asian Network). Also playing at various venues around Wolverhampton & other venues in the Midlands.
Unfortunately on the 08/09/2006, Younger Stakes folded & certain members have gone into Higher Stakes & others have gone there own ways... Slipmat one of few stayed with what was left of Younger Stakes which is now Higher Stakes & Younger Stakes does no longer exist... Since then Higher Stakes have started there own recording labels (High Rise Entertainment & Field Productions) which features many talented artists & producers from all over the UK.

Since the recording labels Slipmat has been on this musical grind & has had his own radio show on Smooth FM, Stakes Showcase broadcasting U.K talent & talent from all areas in Wolverhampton, being one of the most, hottest radio shows in Wolverhampton. Around late 2007, the Radio Station had to be closed down due to unexplainable actions. Whilst not having a weekly radio show, Slipmat has done a fantastic amount of sets & guest appearances on sets, which are circulating the streets of Wolverhampton & has also performed at Sidewinder once or twice. Late 2008 Slipmat hooked up with LJ (Loose Talent) to help Leicester have regular music related events. Together they started Street Rhymers, which is a professional studio quality recorded set. Starting off with Round 1 released in mid November 2008, things went really well creating a large buss around Leicester & a few other surrounding areas in the Midlands. Since then they have released Round 2 and there are T-Shirts & Jumpers available (check out the myspace). Rounds will be releasing every month through out the year, so keep one ear to the Grime for 2009.
