I am a 4th generation Hill Country resident. My great grandparents settled here from their city home of San Antonio in the early 1800's. Originally from England, they would travel back and forth across the seas to buy clothes, rugs and other necessities in life that they would have to have shipped home. (Kind of like Ebay only a little more work.) Going back and forth to England made the 5 hour trip from San Antonio to Comfort, by horse'n'buggy, seem like a walk in the park I am sure. Alfred Giles had a rap sheet a mile long for his archetectural talents.I lived on the family ranch for a while as a child with my mom and 4 brothers and sisters. Then we moved to Vicoria in 1960. I have been back in the Hill Country for 6 years now and am truly enjoying the opportunity to work on my music and song writing. The beautiful country side of the Texas Hill Country truly runs through my veins. It is so inspiring to be a part of the Texas Musicianship and have made some life long friends.
