About Me

I grew up listening to my mother play and sing with her piano at every party my dad used to throw for his friends.....and that was pretty often! I ended up asking my mom for an electric guitar when I was 11 years old and at the age of 13 I was already in a garage band playing and singing Metallica and Guns 'n Roses covers. At that point I was into Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Yngwee Malmsteen.....until I found Pearl Jam. The Grunge trend got the best of me and my band and soon we started composing for ourselves. Mostly heavy overdriven guitars and and fat funky bass and drum beats. At the age 16 I was accepted in CEGEP(Quebec equivalent of 1st 2 years of university..) as a classical guitar major and was also accepted later at McGill University as classical guitar major with a music technology minor. I played many venues in Montreal with my band W.A.C. in my teenage years and recorded a 4 song album(just for kicks of course). I also did a few weddings as a singer(gotta pay the bills right?) and eventually landed a gig touring all over Asia as the lead guitarist for the band Too3K. That lasted about 2 years until I auditioned for Michel Cusson(renouned guitarist of the Quebec Jazz band UZEB and film score composer) for his latest participation in the equestrian show Cavalia. So I got the gig which enabeled me to extend my skills on the accoustic guitar since the show mainly uses that type of guitar, along with classical and electric guitar. I have been on tour with Cavalia for the past year now and have performed in Quebec and the States and and now all over Europe for the next 2 years. This all means that I have a lot of time to work on my own music for the first time in a very long time.My goal is to be able to produce, compose, play and mix everything that comes out of my head. Its a difficult task since my goal is also to make music people will enjoy! I hope that what I am currently posting pleases whoever is listening. Stay cool and rock on!!!

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: This is it.com (for now)
Band Members: Just me for now and whoever wants to join me later when my world tour starts(It's possible ok!...is'nt it?)
Influences: ok here we go: hard rock era with all the hair and make up(Poison, Motley Crew,Skid Row,Warrant), the 90's grunge bands(Pearl Jam, Stone temple Pilots,Sound Garden, Rage Against the Machine, Nirvana,Green Day,Blind Melon,etc....). All the guitar heroes like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Nuno Bettencourt, Yngwee Malmsteen, Stevie Ray Vaughan. I also love any funky music ranging from the Red Hot Chili Peppers to Jamiroquaï. Any classical guitar stuff from the Romantic era and also Joaquin Rodrigo and Heitor Villa lobos for more contemporary solo guitar. And I can never stop listening to Paco de Lucia since flamenco is, in my opinion, the most expressive and sensual way to play the guitar....ever! So I dable in a little bit of flamenco and ''fake it'' but it is still my dream to be able to play like a Gitano from spain. More influences? Well i love pop/rock music aswell: Cold play, Dave Mathews Band, John Mayer,Norah Jones, Lenny Kravitz, U2. Some trip hop/rock aswell like Portishead, Radiohead and Björk. We cant forget all the great metal bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Dream Theater and Tool. I also love movie score music and my 2 favorite composers would have to be John Williams and Danny Elfman. Thats pretty much it i guess but there is so much music I love to listen to and all these different genres will influence me differently depending on how I feel at any particular moment in my life....I just hope to have as much variety as possible. We will just have to wait and see!
Sounds Like: I don't know yet but for now its very mellow and acoustic. I concentrate on vocal harmonies a lot and also on guitar layering. I'm still in my experimental stage so I can't really say that I know exactly what I want my music to sound like yet. I do feel that I want to have heavy distorted guitar riffs but I think that will be for later.....baby steps!
Record Label: none yet
