Fred “Killer†Burke, born Thomas Camp, was a killer and a mob hit man who would off anyone if the price was right. One of the shooters in the notorious St. Valentine’s Day massacre, Burke was also either a suspect or convicted in the killings of at least 20 other people, from police officers to bank cashiers to a female bystander in an Indiana bank robbery. He also was responsible for the mob hit on Frankie Yale, and was under the orders of Al Capone and Frank Nitti when he engaged in multiple mob his for the Chicago mob. Fred Burke was sentenced to life in prison , where he died in 1940.
