Pigsty and the Barrel Squad

The world we are living in is one big pigsty, so let the story begin. Bend was formed in 2004. by the vocalist and songwriter Stipe and Vurnek, ex-guitarist. In that time, it was much like an irish folk based punk rock, with flute and violine. In 2005., a few members left the band and Stipe took over the drum set and Dejan, long time friend of the band, became the main vocalist. Somewhere during that period, Boris from famous croatian hard core band Stronghold joined the band. Since then, bend have changed the sound a little bit...it became a hard core and Motorhead influanced street punk. In spring 2007. , we entered a Red light studio in Zagreb and recorded a 8- song demo with our friend and producer Mario Merdžan. The promo cd was accepted very well among audience and our friends. First gig we had was with Stronghold in December 2006. in Zagreb squat...we were amazed by positive reactions of the crowd. After that we played a few shows in Zagreb,Sarajevo, Osijek...We were also supposed to play in Scottland,together with our friends from the band Stronghold, in October 2006.,but unfriendly Englishmen stopped us at the border, at the London airport.The enterance was forbiden for us due to the lack of working permits( lame excuse for fucking with us...shitheads!) In 2008., guitar player Vuc left the band and Viktor, another ex-member of Stronghold came into the band. Now, the crew is completed and the ship has left the harbour!Street pirating is our way..hard core rocknroll! We all have been basically friends for years and used to play in many bands before. In our music we are trying to combine many styles of music that we like to listen. It is basiclly street punk with a dose of hard core aggression & emotion and rocknroll soul & spirit. The songs are realistic with a dose of humor and sarcasm in one way, in the another way its anthems for the street pirates( what we would like to call;) Soon, we are going to the studio to record a full length CD. Also , we are looking for a lable to support us and gigs to play...Pigsty family, 2009.
