POEMS....
Dry Stone Walls
An ancient friend built a dry stone wall
Clean, precise, rock comfortable
To cut the green in handy lots
Across the hills to web the tops
And keep the ragged moor at bay
Big as a man, far longer still
And so thru time perennial
but whence the rest?
Well who would know,
They Are.
That's all we need to know.
I want to be remembered by,
In every sense I vainly strive
to make a name, not even mine
to build that concrete edifice
unto my self, I can't resist.
But Des and Des's dry stone wall,
Will last an eon, serve a goal.
I should, as those anonymous men
Have built a very useful wall,
to cage the wild and nurse our love,
to comfort and protect us all.
An unknown hand that built so well,
Not striving for the fame and wealth,
just fill a bowl, feed a self.
Princess

Someone told the princess
That her nose was too big,
But her eyes, cheek and chin
And face and mouth there on
Were perfectly ordinary.
The Princess summons up
Her courage,
To focus her thoughts
And think on the extra-ordinary nose.
She grows;
Extra-ordinary
Mouth, eyes, cheek and chin,
All blessed with extra-ordinary skin.

At a glance he's different, he's other
"There's no way he could be my brother
His accents wrong and his social position
Compromises my ambition."
So you nurture the notion that he's no good
His life style's dodgy, he's after your blood
His business practices do you harm.
This fear and hate, they keep you warm.
And so we live with constant friction
From views you built on twisted fiction
Blocking the ways to social cohesion
As you snear 'Paki' to pour derrision.
And there we have it. It all makes sense
Your choice of insult shows your ignorance
If you'd tried just a little to expand your knowledge
To get to grips with what this man is
If you'd bothered to look, to learn, to hunt
You'd know that 'Paki' means pure you runt
Grow Up And Grow Old

Adhere your self to that grey face
The thinning hair the wrinkled hand
Let that visage set your pace
That face will help you understand
That years have passed, that life is short
That now is when things must be done.
Tomorrow does not bare a whisper
Dreams onhold can not be won.
The aged heart so battle blessed
Grows rank when wrapped in tupperware
The crone who sings her hearty best
Knows love knows you and how to care.
Do not obsess with youth you pass
Or vainly crave to cheat at life
You won't escape the thing you are
Be lush Be full replete and ripe.
C'Mon

Turn up the heating?
Don't be a louse,
Wear a jumper in the house.
The planets wrecked
It's decomissioning
Cos you can't live without air conditioning.
If where you chose a holiday spot
Makes you feel way too hot
Go somewhere else you simple clot
To live for the moment means
Don't waste time
Not all that matters is mine, mine, mine.
Cos you can afford it doesn't mean you can
Think of others let your mind expand
Beyond the confines of your ring piece
Let go, let go, let go release
You'll leave this World in shreds and tatters
Unless you sus what really matters
