A DJ since he was .5 years old, DJ Kevlar finally figured out a way to get paid for it in 2001 with his first running gig at the world-famous Piatti Pronto in Midtown Manhattan (back when he was still known as DJ Vinny Del Negro). Kevlar has since gained more skills, acclaim and weight, holding down his popular DAG! parties at venues like Totem, 85A, Maia Meyhane, Fontana's, Mundial and Nexus Lounge. He also spins at spots like Bembe, Joe's Pub and Good World. In addition to DAG!, Kevlar rocks the monthly BrooklynHipHopFunkDanceParty The Royale Rumble with Rabbi Darkside the fourth Friday of every month at Park Slope's original groovebox, The Royale. Kevlar is known for mixing a delectable blend of classic hip-hop, funk breaks and global grooves. He can't hear what you're requesting, and strongly dislikes the term "disc jockey," since he neither uses discs nor is four-feet-tall. He dedicates this next track to yo mama.
