Haven the name by definition is a safe place. Haven the rapper is anything but safe. Born Roy Wayne Watley Jr., Haven chose the name before entering into a rap competition in 2003. He was rapping since 1995, just never put a title to himself. He hails from Aurora, Co, where he was born and raised.He has made numerous appearances on projects with artists such as Foe, Julox, 800 the Jewell, Allison Wright, B Blacc, and several other artists. He has appeared on BET’s Uncut with the single “Keeping it Gangstaâ€. He has been on Dat 1 Shit, The Leak, Drama Kings Mixtape, and has just released his own mixtape, The SideShow.He is currently working on his second mixtape, titled King Kong. He also is working on the highly anticipated solo album Long Tyme Coming, and yet another collobrative effort with Karma (Untitled). He has also made appearances on Karma’s blazing mixtape Barak O’Karma, which is in stores now. He has opened up for major acts including David Banner, Bone Thugs, Devin the Dude, Bone Crusher, Young Jeezy, Lil Scrappy and other local performers. He dubs himself Haven the Great, and he hasn’t lived short of his name. As he puts it himself: “I’ve been refined/dipped in fire three times/I can walk down the f***ing block and melt the street signs.†You will definitely hear a lot from him.
