A complete and total revamp...
Current mood: cheerful
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
I was there at 7 pm Thursday night for the enjoyment of the Star Trek movie. It was everything that I thought it was going to be and more. I was completely and thoroughly satisfied and exhilerated with the action, was on the edge of my seat, and there was a standing ovation at the end of the movie. Not only that, there was a TV crew there to film the people that showed up.My husband is a complete Star Trek buff, he knows every possible fact and owns every book ever written, he kept telling me all the facts that were not mentioned. At the end of the movie, I just calmly turned to him and said, "It was a 2 hour movie, not a multi episode TV series, and there wouldn't have been a point to going through every moment in existence of Kirk's life, they only pinpointed the important parts." He was asking what about Kirk's brother and he thought that the movie was bubblegum. You know, if the movie had featured a bunch of duct taped phasers and a toylike Enterprise, I think most of the people wouldn't have went to the movie, especially not the younger generation. The point to the movie was a complete revamp, something that the younger generation could sink their teeth into and hang on for the ride. We were not reliving nostalgia. I think it was everything it needed to be and more. Granted, I think they should have continued with the story instead of going back to the beginning, which seems to be a growing trend with movies these days, but I am glad that they did go back to the beginning. It was exceptionally spectacular.I will be there with my big gulp and gigantuan popcorn on the first night of opening...Will you?
Yes, I think it will be different, but in a good way. I think it needed a revamp. TOS was never my favorite series because it was so cheesy. I know many like that nostalgia, but it was killing Trek with the newer generations. It's Trek's chance of staying alive.
Anything and everything Klingon of course. I've been dressing in Klingon since 1999. I've attended Balticon, Fedoracon, Chattacon, Dragon con, you name it, I've been there. I also attended the Y2K Beach Bash. A former member of IKBF of Baltimore/Washington DC. I'm now a Klingon without a homeworld. I've been tossed asunder and I'm trying to find a group in my area. They're non existant here. I don't like being tied down with rules and regulations which a lot of groups have now and I'm currently revamping my Klingon personna. More updated attire, updated ridges, and updated overall look.
I will be sure to post pics when everything is ready, for now, you can see me as I am currently at the photo on the left with my good friend Doqtaj' Jaqvi, I'm the blonde Klingon, she's the redhead. Yes, I do look short compared with her, but she's 6'2, I'm 5'9...so neither of us are short.
As David Bowie said in the Labyrinth and I feel it's a truly Klingon statement, "Love me, Obey me, do as I say, and I will be your slave." Clever trickery on his part.
Please, this is my Klingon page, add yourself...I'm open to making new Klingon friends.
