Volunteering has been the very essence of what New Kent has known for years for means of fire and rescue response, recently augmented by career staff in just the past couple of years. Our department works with 2 fellow volunteer departments, alongside career staffing. With the ever-populating county and "big boom growth" we're looking for in the future, our departments are always looking for responsible, trustworthy, hard workers looking to volunteer and make a difference in their community. Whether you wish to be a Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, or assist with fund raising functions, we are always looking for "a few good men & women". You don't have to have any experience - just the desire to help your community and learn. There is always a need in the county for volunteers and always the availability for training.
