About Me

We are proud to play a rare mix of Vintage Acoustic 20's and 30's Jazz, Blues, Pop Tunes and Novelty Items. Hailing from the dawn of modern music, our sound appeals not only to veteran jazz fans, but also to lovers of folk, blues, rock and country music, and anybody with an ear for a sweet melody and a foot tapping hot rhythm. Spats Langham (guitar, banjo, ukulele, vocals) has featured on dozens of other peoples CD's, and has traveled the world with bands like 'The Pasadena Roof Orchestra', 'Bob Kerr's Whoopee Band' and 'Chris Barber' and is now proud to record his own band playing his favourite songs. Norman Field (clarinet and saxophone) is an unsung hero of the jazz scene, and a leading expert on the music of the 20's and 30's. Keith Nichols (piano) is the godfather of British Classic Jazz, a multi-instrumentalist who has recorded with some of the best names is jazz, including Bing Crosby! Nick Gill (piano) is also featured playing some fine stride piano in his own unique style. Debbie Arthurs is featured not only as drummer, but demonstrates her outstanding vocals on songs like 'You're the Cream in my Coffee'. Malcolm Sked (sousaphone and string bass) holds the band together with style. Danny Blyth (guitar, mandolin) completes the solid rhythm section, and along with Spats gives the band its unique 'acoustic string' sound. www.hotfingers.co.uk for upcoming gigs and more information. We also play as hot fingers - a smaller version of the band. www.myspace.com/hotfingerstrio.
