I'd like to meet:
I would love to meet George and Laura Bush. In a face to face conversation with them, I would like to figure out of either of them are truly capable of feeliing guilt. George Bush has sent thousands young men to their deaths, for no real reason other than to enrich his partners in oil. Did his years of alcoholism deaden him to real human emotion? Does Laura feel guilt from accidentally killing Michael Douglas her high school classmate, when she ran that stop sign? (search her maiden name "Laura Welch, Michael Douglas") I would be interested to know if being directly responsible for a death and growing numb from it, is something that helps her feel indifferent to the pain of other people. Does never having known people that have no health insurance, keep them from understanding the anguish people go through that need medicine, but can't even afford to see a doctor to get a prescription written? Does ignoring a reality like this, or global warming, let them just overlook the human cost of their indifference. I would like to understand, from the President, why he thinks it is so important to totally support the drug companies and medical insurance industry CEO's. Does he think that the tens of millions of dollars that they provided to him more than off-set the humanitarian needs of human beings? I would like know if he realzes that Canada provides medical coverage for all its citizens for the same price that we spend to help only the fortunate Americans that still have coverage.
Music:
I am fortunate enough to be associated with "The Dean Evans Band". I am his head roadie. See his MySpace Link, at www.myspace.com/deanevansband He is an incredible musician and songwriter, with a terrific future. I am a product of the 70's and I like the music I grew up with, but now, I mostly listen to the newer "PopRock" tunes.
Movies:
"Captain Ron" is the greatest sailing movie of all time.
Television:
The first channels I always check out are the C-Span ones. I enjoy seeing reality at its highest and lowest levels. However, I rarely turn the TV .. I am in bed. In my car, my readio is seldom away from Public Radio, 90.7 in St Louis.
Books:
"Into Thin Air" "The Bounty Trilogys" the following two, being the ones to read. "Pitcairn Island" "Men Against the Sea" "Dove" By Robin Graham
Heroes:
Tristan Jones is the first one to come to mind. He was a sailing adventurer, who traveled the world, with meager finances. He wrote many books, and didn't hold back on the details. I have read at least a dozen of his books, and there were few times, he had more than a few hundred dollars. If you are inspired to read one, I recommend "The Incredible Voyage". Start in the middle, when He is beginning to sail up the Amazon, it is true, and amazing.
